MOUNT PLEASANT, TEXAS – Congressman Nathaniel Moran (TX-01) released the following statement after touring the Titus Regional Medical Center and briefing the Ark-Tex Council of Governments:

On his visit to Titus Regional Medical Center: “Rural communities across the region depend on Titus Regional Medical Center for critical care. Terry Scoggin and his team have adapted to an ever-changing environment to respond to the needs of their community and provide life-saving care to the residents of East Texas.”

On his meeting with the ArkTex Council of Governments (ATCOG): “I commend Chris Brown, ATCOG Executive Director, his staff, and the entire Board of Directors for their efforts to expand opportunities in the nine northeast Texas counties and one southwest Arkansas county. The council tackles many areas of concern for the citizens of Northeast Texas including programs for senior citizens, Criminal Justice, Economic Development, Broadband Services, Environmental, Housing, Transportation, and Public Safety (which operates both 9-1-1 and Homeland Security). I look forward to working alongside these leaders to build upon these efforts through my work in Congress.”

On his meeting with Titus County Leadership: “Thank you to County Judge Kent Cooper, Sheriff Ingram, Mount Pleasant City Manager Ed Thatcher, and other community leaders for taking the time to speak with me this afternoon in Mount Pleasant about public policy and economic development throughout the county. Together, we will continue to work to ensure the safety and prosperity of the citizens of Titus County.”
