HART ISD: Online Learning Commitment Contract

Hart

Hart ISD issued the following announcement.

Hart ISD Online Learning Commitment Contract Due July 30, 2020

Hart ISD Online Learning Overview:    Online learning at Hart ISD will have a separate instructional design, but will utilize the same curriculum and grading guidelines as face-to-face instruction. Assignments may look different but they will cover the same content and skills as on-campus instruction. Students will have assignments that are due daily and/or at teacher discretion just like the face-to-face classroom.

Students may receive instruction in the following ways (including, but not limited to):

● Authentic student work/assignments with timely and relevant feedback for continued progress in learning of the standard

● Hands-on activities which may need an extra pair of at “home” hands

● Choice boards and playlists

● Instructional activities within Google Classroom

● Portfolio tasks and turning in of assignments

● Assessments

● Video lessons from teacher

● Project based learning/assignments

● Group/partner projects

Hart ISD’s online learning will utilize the same high quality, rigorous curriculum as students who are in face-to-face instruction. During virtual instruction, time management is critical to success. Students, teachers and parents must remain in communication regarding daily schedules and assignments. As with any traditional course, there is a risk of receiving a lower grade if a student falls behind.

Once you have committed to online learning, your child must stay in this learning path for the duration of the grading period (6 weeks). Continuously switching methods will be detrimental to student learning. It is important to be consistent with your child in regards to which learning path you choose. Students who choose online learning, will not be able to participate or attend extracurricular activities. Missed practices will follow the consequences listed in the athletic handbook.

If you feel that online learning is the right learning path for your child, please fill out the bottom portion and return to the Hart ISD Administration building on or before July 30, 2020.
