There were 3,967 students enrolled in Hereford ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.9% of them were boys, and 49.1% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 90.5% of the Hereford ISD total enrollment.

Hereford ISD roughly covers schools within Deaf Smith County with its main office in Hereford.

Among the eight schools in Hereford ISD, Hereford High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,154 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
