Memphis ISD Education: 442 students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 442 students enrolled in Memphis ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, a slight decrease from the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.2% of them were boys, and 49.8% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 60.6% of the Memphis ISD total enrollment.

Memphis ISD roughly covers schools within Hall County with its main office in Memphis.

Among the four schools in Memphis ISD, Memphis High School recorded the highest enrollment of 141 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
