There were 211 students enrolled in Hart ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 0.5% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.7% of them were girls, and 48.3% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 94.8% of the Hart ISD total enrollment.

Hart ISD roughly covers schools within Castro County with its main office in Hart.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
