There were 94 white students enrolled in Kress ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 6.9% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Kress ISD schools welcomed 271 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, white students comprised 34.7% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Kress ISD roughly covers schools within Swisher County and has a main office in Kress.

Among the two schools in Kress ISD schools, Kress Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 51 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
