Congressman Nathaniel Moran (R-TX-01) hosted Congressman French Hill (R-AR-02), Vice-Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, in Tyler and Longview for economic roundtables with East Texas banking and finance leaders. The discussions addressed topics such as national debt, monetary policy, banking regulations, inflation impact, tax issues, and support for small businesses amid economic challenges and government regulations. The events were held at Drake Real Estate and Investments in Tyler and VeraBank in Longview.
“It was an honor to have Congressman Hill join me for roundtable discussions with the finance and banking communities in Tyler and Longview,” said Congressman Moran. “I appreciate those who joined us to talk about important issues that affect financial security of all Americans. It was a valuable opportunity to answer questions and to receive feedback from East Texans on what we can do in Washington, D.C. to ensure the banking and investment community is freed up from burdensome regulation to do what they need to in order to make the American economy thrive.”
“I was so pleased to join my friend and colleague Rep. Moran today in visiting with many Texas bankers and touring the impressive, standalone Financial Crimes Intelligence Center in Tyler,” said Congressman Hill. “As a former banker in both Texas and my neighboring home state of Arkansas, I understand firsthand the importance of supporting bankers in our region as they are key players in helping drive our economy and also how we can best combat financial crimes to protect consumers and go after crooks. Rep. Moran has been a fantastic addition to Congress as he proudly represents East Texas and pushes forward their values and priorities in Washington.”
“In the current business climate, it is refreshing to have government representatives like Congressmen Moran and Hill who want input from their constituents,” said Matthew Marshall of Drake Real Estate and Investments in Tyler. “Drake was happy to host the event, and I believe all of the attendees enjoyed the discussion.”
“We were pleased to host Congressmen Moran and Hill in Longview for a valuable conversation about the pressing issues facing the financial and banking community,” said Brad Tidwell of VeraBank in Longview. “The discussion covered many topics that are important to East Texas, and it was a great opportunity for local business members to share what they face each day in the financial industry.”
