Enrollment Analysis: white students comprised 7.4% of Dimmitt ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 81 white students enrolled in Dimmitt ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Dimmitt ISD schools welcomed 1,097 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 7.4% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Dimmitt ISD roughly covers schools within Castro County and has a main office in Dimmitt.

Among the three schools in Dimmitt ISD schools, Richardson Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 40 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
