During a recent hearing of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, Congressman Nathaniel Moran from Texas emphasized the importance of strengthening U.S. cyber defenses against threats posed by the CCP. Citing a report from CrowdStrike, he noted a significant increase in espionage attacks, with critical industries experiencing up to a 300 percent rise in targeted attacks. The report attributed these developments to advancements in China's AI capabilities.

Moran expressed bipartisan support for adopting offensive strategies in cybersecurity. "Both Democrats and Republicans have talked about going on the offensive," he stated. He supported Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi's call to "hack the hackers" and target those who attack the United States and its citizens. He stressed that attackers should face direct and severe consequences for their actions.

In his concluding remarks, Moran reiterated, "A great defense means a really good offense," underscoring the need for proactive measures in cybersecurity.
