Parmer County schools enrolled 2,203 students during 2023-24 school year

There were 2,203 students enrolled in Parmer County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 0.9% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

At the time, Parmer County had the 103rd lowest enrollment in the state.

Data also showed that Hispanic students made up 77.7% of the student body, the largest percentage in Parmer County schools, followed by white students at 21.5%, Black students at 0.2%, American Indian students at 0.1% and multiracial students at 0.5%.

A recent study by WalletHub classified Texas as one of the least-educated states in the U.S., ranking it 41st out of 50 in educational quality and student outcomes.
