How many students were enrolled in Ochiltree County schools during 2023-24 school year?

There were 1,922 students enrolled in Ochiltree County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 4.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

At the time, Ochiltree County had the 93rd lowest enrollment in the state.

Data also showed that Hispanic students made up 74.2% of the student body, the largest percentage in Ochiltree County schools, followed by white students at 24.3%, American Indian students at 0.3%, Asian students at 0.3% and multiracial students at 0.9%.

A recent study by WalletHub classified Texas as one of the least-educated states in the U.S., ranking it 41st out of 50 in educational quality and student outcomes.
