There were 2,052 students enrolled in Perryton ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 3.8% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.2% of them were girls, and 49.8% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 73.7% of the Perryton ISD total enrollment.

Perryton ISD roughly covers schools within Ochiltree County with its main office in Perryton.

Among the six schools in Perryton ISD, Perryton High School recorded the highest enrollment of 630 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
