There were 183 students enrolled in Turkey-Quitaque ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 5.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 55.2% of them were boys, and 44.8% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 69.4% of the Turkey-Quitaque ISD total enrollment.

Turkey-Quitaque ISD roughly covers schools within Hall County with its main office in Turkey.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
