There were 46 Multiracial students enrolled in Moore County schools in the 2021-22 school year, 9.5% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Moore County welcomed 4,900 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Multiracial comprised 0.9% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the county.

Among the 12 schools in Moore County, only Dumas High School and Dumas Junior High School enrolled any Multiracial students, welcoming eight students each in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
