Congressman Nathaniel Moran of Texas has issued a New Year's Day statement reflecting on his first term in Congress and outlining his plans for the upcoming 119th Congress. In a video message, Moran expressed pride in representing East Texans and shared some achievements from his time in office.
Moran highlighted his efforts to engage with constituents, noting that he reached out to over 600,000 East Texans through telephone town halls and communicated with more than 51,000 individuals via emails, letters, and phone calls. He also mentioned assisting over 1,300 residents with casework issues.
The congressman reported returning $6.2 million from federal agencies back to East Texans. He introduced 20 bills during the 118th Congress focused on border security, reducing federal spending, protecting election integrity, and supporting the workforce. Additionally, he co-sponsored more than 220 bills.
During his first term, Moran served on the House Committees on Judiciary, Foreign Affairs, and Education and Workforce. Looking ahead to the new Congress, he announced his selection to serve on the Ways and Means Committee. This committee deals with taxes, health care, trade, and mandatory spending programs.
Moran expressed eagerness to work on extending the Trump Tax Cuts of 2017 and collaborating with President Trump’s administration to support Texas taxpayers and small business owners.
Reflecting on his career from Smith County Judge to Congressman, Moran conveyed gratitude for the trust placed in him by constituents. As the new year begins, he reaffirmed his commitment to serving the First District of Texas.
