Congressman Nathaniel Moran of Texas and Congressman Richard Hudson of North Carolina, along with over 120 colleagues, have introduced the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. This bipartisan legislation aims to establish nationwide reciprocity for concealed carry license holders and residents of Constitutional Carry states. Former President Donald J. Trump has shown support for signing such a bill into law.
“The Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens should not end at the state line,” stated Congressman Moran. “I am proud to cosponsor Congressman Hudson’s legislation to streamline the patchwork of state laws on concealed carry and ensure law-abiding citizens don’t become criminals just by crossing a state line. Our Founding Fathers determined in the Constitution that Americans have the fundamental right to keep and bear arms. I will fight to protect this cherished right for every law-abiding American citizen.”
The proposed bill allows individuals with state-issued concealed carry licenses or permits to conceal a handgun in any other state, extending this privilege to residents from Constitutional Carry states as well.
The legislation is backed by prominent pro-Second Amendment groups, including the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA), Gun Owners of America (GOA), the U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA), and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).
