Congressman Nathaniel Moran recently announced the winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge at Texas High School in Texarkana. The accolade went to Nirav Neupane, a ninth-grade student from the school, for his app ServeSmart.
"Thank you to the East Texas students who participated in this year's Congressional App Challenge," stated Congressman Moran. "Congratulations to Nirav Neupane for winning this year’s competition with his appropriately named app, ServeSmart."
Moran elaborated on the functionality of ServeSmart, saying, "This AI-powered app helps schools, communities, and individuals organize and participate in fundraisers from start to finish. By streamlining the often-tedious process of fundraising, ServeSmart provides a well-rounded experience for both organizers and participants. I am incredibly proud of Nirav and all the students who took part in this year’s challenge. Their creativity and innovation inspire hope and pride in the next generation of East Texas leaders as they serve their communities with humble service and bold action."
Texarkana ISD Superintendent Dr. Doug Brubaker expressed pride in Neupane's achievement: “Texarkana ISD is proud of the initiative, determination, and innovative spirit that Nirav has demonstrated throughout the development of his app, ServeSmart,” said Dr. Brubaker. “He is an excellent example of how students can use technology to motivate others to serve their communities more effectively. We are very proud of him and his accomplishments.”
The Congressional App Challenge aims to engage students nationwide in coding while involving Members of Congress across America since its inception in 2015. It encourages young people from diverse backgrounds to develop apps addressing local, national, or global issues.
